Founded in 1984 by Pastor Joslin Beauliere and recognized by the haiti national education department in 2008, Ecole Mixte Source d'Espoir (Source of Hope School) is a mixed (Boys and Girls) school. It is founded in order to contribute to the improvement of the educational conditions of our country Haiti, particularly to Tom Gato, that is one of the localities of Fondwa.
Ecole Mixte Source d'Espoir (Source of Hope School) serves over 120 children, with a team of 5 teachers at Tom Gato, Fondwa, Haiti, one of areas damaged by the earthquake on January 12, 2010, in the hemisphere’s poorest country.
The earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010, damaged or destroyed our school. The earthquake has shaken our dreams but not destroyed. For that, we are more determined and motivated to pursue our dreams that are also our slogan "Save the Children for a better tomorrow.
The academic year 2009-2010 was one of the hardest and saddest for us. After the earthquake, we wondered if it was not one year completely lost.
But thanks to God, with the help and the prayers of friends and supporters, the school opened its door and our children returned to school.
Eight months after the earthquake, we are still focused on providing food, water, and education to as many students as possible. Students are being taught under tarps and temporary structures. And more this year we will have more children in our school. Many come from port au Prince and live in the area because their parents are unable to take care of them at Port au prince.
As the earthquake has shaken our dream but not destroyed it. So, we are more determined and motivated to pursue our dream that is also our slogan "Save the Children for a better tomorrow".
For that, we'd like for the New Year 2010-2011 that you accompany us for the concretization of our dreams and also help us to rebuild HAITI, our beloved country.
